Word of Life Assembly of God Church was formed in July 1997 in Owings Mills, MD. Over the years the church grew into a multi-national church with members in attendance from over ten different nations.  They adopted the name Word of Life International Church as a reflection to what God was doing in the church. 

In 2003, Ron Wienke was elected as Senior Pastor and Chris Sakai as his Associate in 2004.  In 2005 the Lord set the church on a new path with a fresh vision: to reach the unchurched of the Baltimore Community and to help people find their place in the Body of Christ.  The church’s goal became to show God’s love in a practical way to those in the community through acts of kindness and service and to have a Sunday morning service that was both inviting and relevant to those who were frustrated with the establishment of the church or who had never attended church. 

On March 2, 2008, Ron Wienke retired as Senior Pastor and passed the baton of leadership to Chris Sakai.  The church continues to show God’s love to its community and to create an atmosphere that makes people feel welcome so they can meet the one who loves and knows them better than all others, Jesus.
